Janet Paterson

Director/Teacher-Diploma of Teaching in Early Childhood Education. JP

Janet has been the director of ACPS since 1997, when she & her family moved to Armidale. She has also been an external marker for UNE & a part time teacher for TAFE during that time. Janet has worked in the Early Childhood Education field since 1980. She has been a member of the management committee of PEDAL Early Intervention since 2006. In 2009 Janet received a J.A. Sutherland Award for making significant contributions to education over many years. She also received an Early Childhood Award for advocacy.

 

Sue Motley

Diploma in Children's Services

Sue Motley started working at ACPS as an Administration Assistant since January 2005. In addition to her administration duties Sue did quite a lot of  casual work with children with special needs which she really enjoyed.

Sue commenced a two year Child Care Worker traineeship at ACPS in 2007 and  completed both the traineeship and a  Diploma in Children's Services in 2009. She was a regional finalist in the Trainee of the Year Awards in 2008 and was presented with a Health and Community Services Industry Award.

Sue's experience as a Registered Nurse has given her a strong interest in modelling and promoting a healthy active lifestyle. She enjoys cooking with the children and exposing them to new foods, especially those from the vegie patch!! Sue enjoys her role with the children and is now a full time Child Care Assistant

Sue is married with four children and enjoys camping. walking, gardening and cooking.

 

Elizabeth Berdar

My name is Elizabeth Berdar. I have had a long affiliation with Armidale Community Preschool. My 4 children, all adults now, attended the preschool. I worked at Armidale Community Preschool for 10 years (1995-2005) as a qualified assistant. In October 2009 I returned to once again be part of the team & work in our beautiful new building. I enjoy playing tennis, reading & holidays at the beach.

 

Michelle Lockeridge

My name is Michelle Lockeridge. I have worked at Armidale Community Preschool for 5 years.Before I started working at Armidale Community Preschool, I worked casually at Hobbitt Preschool & Childcare Centre, & also  at Drummond School in the Early Intervention class.I enjoy going for walks, reading. cooking & spending time with my family. I have 2 children Dan (16) & Ben (11)

 

Leanne Lockrey

After completing my Associate Diploma in Social Science (Child Studies) in 2000, I helped in the establishment of our family business & devoted my time to rearing our four small children.  In 2005, I starting working part-time at Armidale Community Preschool and currently work four days a week.  I play an active part in the planning & implementation of our program & consider myself as a partner, in each child’s learning ‘process’.  I have a particular interest in behaviour management (3-8yr olds) & in 2009, I trained to become a Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) facilitator.  I now facilitate seminars & groups (at the preschool) during Term 2, each year.

 

 

Trina Morgan

Hi my name is Trina. I have 3 children & 1 grandchild. I completed Certificate III in Children's Services in 2009 & since then I have worked as an assistant in preschool & long day care.

I enjoy doing puzzles & creative art with the children, but my favourite activity is cooking with the children, which we do almost every day.

 

 

Rebecca Behrend

My name is Rebecca & I have been working in the Early Childhood Industry for over eight years. Prior to joining the team at Armidale Community Preschool I have worked in long day care. I also now work with PEDAL Early Intervention on the days that I am not at preschool.

As a child it was my dream to become a teacher & work with children, & now as an early childhood teacher I view the early childhood years as a very important stage in a person's life, providing the foundations for the life that lies ahead.

 

Karen Bramley

Hello my name is Karen. It is a pleasure to begin work at Armidale Community Preschool in 2011 & meeting the children & their families.

I will be studying for my Diploma in Children Services while working 3 days a week at Armidale Community Preschool. I completed Certificate III at Hobbitt Preschool & Childcare Centre in 2009-2010.

Both my children attended Armidale Community Preschool & are now both at "big school". I enjoy cooking with my girls , reading, getting together with friends & holidays at Valla Beach.

 

Leigh Best

Hi my name is Leigh. I have 3 children, one of whom attends Armidale Community Preschool. My family & I moved from Sydney two years ago & we all love the Armidale community & the more relaxed lifestyle.

I am enjoying working in the preschool office on Wednesdays & Thursdays & I am very Happy to help with any enquiries relating to administration. 

 

Rowena Post

Rowena joined Armidale Community Preschool at the end of July 2010. Prior to this appointment she was working as a casual teacher in both private & public schools in Armidale. From 2000 to 2004 she was the Visual Arts Specialist & a music teacher at St Marks Catholic  Primary School in Drummoyne. Rowena has a Bachelor in Education majoring in music & is a qualified music teacher. She has taught piano, recorder, singing & musicianship. Her main passion is visual art. She is actively pursuing her own development as an artist & paint & draws regularly. She says that to fuel the imagination & creativity in children brings her great satisfaction as the pleasure & wonder in the children's eyes as they create is a joy to see.

Rowena has 6 children. The oldest is 30 years old & the youngest is 6 years old.
